Wrapping a DB9

Seriously considering getting my 2010 DB9 wrapped, so here’s your opportunity to abuse me/encourage me/make suggestions etc etc

lol, what colour wrap do you have in mind, and what colour is it currently?

There was a chap on here who wrapped his DB9 in bright orange a while back - similar to cayucus orange. Looked great to be fair.

Why do you want/need to wrap it?

Is there anything wrong with the painwork now, is it rough, bubbling, corroded already?

Whats the cost?

Here it is right now - Quantum Silver with Obsidian Black interior. I’m thinking perhaps metallic British Racing Green

There’s nothing wrong with it right now - paint is in decent condition and the one or two (usual) panels which were starting to corrode I had resprayed as part of the deal with the dealer I bought it from. I buy a lot of monochrome cars given resale ease/value…but I fancy a bit of colour in my life!!

If you have any bubbling paintwork or rough areas be aware that if you or next owner want to go back to original youve a very good chance that it will rip off what its stuck too and end up spending even more on it to put it right.

Not an issue - all areas that were starting to go have been sorted

The warning that was given is very pertinent. I have a lot of experience with wrapping and it's quite often that paint repair areas will delaminate when the wrap gets removed. To be clear, not always - but often. Sufficiently often that I'd advise including that cost in your Risk / Benefit consideration before proceeding with the wrap.

Thanks for that - even with panels which have been fully re-sprayed or just with areas which have been repaired/blended in??

That green Audi is a lovely colour. It reminds me of Jaguar Racing Green (BRG is much darker). I'm so pleased that green is back in fashion after 15+ years of monochrome.

What would a top quality wrap cost compared to a conventional respray?

(general question, I'm not planning on doing it)

Go for it OP. I’ve been thinking something along those lines as I too have a black db9, and would go for a green, maybe something more subtle like alloro.

I got my meteorite silver vantage wrapped about 4 years ago. Fancied freshening it up. Wrap has help up very well.
