Big Jump in NFU Insurance renewal
Discussion
Just wanted to see if any other owners had seen a big jump in there NFU Insurance renewal this year?
For me nothing as changed in circumstances in the 5 years I've been with them and always been good. This year it jumped from £440 to £540, for a 5 year old V8 Vantage and that's with an £85 mutual bonus.

Time for you to move on to a new Insurer and get the nice introductory offers that are always available. For me nothing as changed in circumstances in the 5 years I've been with them and always been good. Not disputing that its time for OP to look around, but introductory offers for new customers are now banned.https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/dec/30/land...

Last year during Covid with low mileage I insured my 2012 Vantage for £280 for 3k miles, this year back to more normal 5-6k miles and insurance has jumped to £380 with no other changes. >11 years NCB and 51 year old in low risk postcode.
Maybe its inflation either way its time to get a new quote at least for comparison. I did a quick check when I got my renewal and the renewal was £20 cheaper than lowest quote, so all providers were up.

I was with NFU for five years or so, as they were always competitive. However, last April's premium on my 2016 DB11 jumped by £150 to nearly £700! With no claims or accidents. After a bit of searching, I went with Privilege, with like for like cover for £438. will be shopping around again in April.
After doing a carful compare with other cheaper quotes I discovered I had £0 voluntary access on my NFU. Also had 12,000 annual mileage which is double what I have been doing. So with minor tweaks I've managed to get my NFU back to what it was and still better than what I could get by shopping around as the access they add to get low price was unreasonably high. Still does not explain though why the like for like from last year jumped so much.
I will be 60 though this year so not sure this is a key tipping point like young drivers until they get to 25 or are the insurance companies just like Good Fellas, "F'you You Pay"....
