I know this has been done to death but wanted to check.

I was lead to believe (from posts on here) that the V8V (mines a 2007) coolant level sensor is the same as a Jag/Land Rover part. Mine's been dicky for a while and sometimes gives and 'low level' warning. Coolant level is fine. After a 260 mile trip with the error showing the whole time I decided to change it. I had a couple of sensors in the garage.

Got to the point of pugging the new one into the connector and I hit a problem. The connector on the loom is a standard 2 way junior timer connector. These have a small channel cut-out to locate the mating part in the correct orientation. You can see it here. It's dead in the middle of the upper face.

The OE Aston sensor has a raised ridge in the middle and mates perfectly. Both Land Rover parts I have are offset to one side:

I can shove it into the connector but it's not a good fit and will probably not do any good in the long run.

Have I got the wrong part? Had a look at lots of other pictures and details of the Jag/Land Rover parts but they all look the same with this offset locating ridge.

Cheers
