Question about Code Reader & Tyre Comment

Hello all,
I recently took my car to Sydney for service. Each year I make the 300k trip and leave the car with Aston Martin Sydney overnight - trek back the next day. On this occasion there were a few things to do and one of the things they neglected to do was tick the little box or whatever on the AM Computer system to make the mirrors fold in once I lock the car........ the battery had gone flat about six months ago.
Does the Foxwell code reader have the ability to do this if I were to purchase one ? Can it do any other alterations or is it just good enough to remove fault codes?

Oh and whilst I'm writing this...... I got some new Michelins put on. PS4S..... this is after much reading on here about tyres. I would like to thank those people who did that research and made the comments because they are remarkably different. I can't believe the significant different that the new tyres make. The previous Bridgestones were not the best but I didn't realise how bad they really were. The car is transformed. Grippy, less bumpy and more comfy.

Assuming the DB9 is the same as the V8V, then it is an AMDS job to set the mirrors unfortunately.
I lost that function too after a battery disconnect. Why on earth did AM design it like that, when Jaguar (and probably every other car) have it as a menu item in vehicle settings? Not simply to drive traffic to their dealers surely?Simpo Two said:

No idea why it was like that in the early cars, but it is a menu item in later cars. And no, not to drive traffic to dealers, in the same way that Covid-19 isn't caused by 5G and 9-11 wasn't an inside job.LTP said:

I thought there was a reason. Maybe I over-estimated them and in fact they just didn't think at all!As for driving traffic to dealers, well, that's the reason you won't find AMDS on eBay...

No, it's the fact that it's a proprietary system. You won't find the Volvo equivalent on eBay either, unless it's an illegally "cracked" version that will only work on W7. I'll be willing to bet that not many OEMs release their software diagnostic tools as open source. They do have to release certain information to allow OBD diagnostics by non-franchised dealers.An alternative argument could be (without any direct knowledge) that an OEM might not want untrained people with the ability to delve deep into the OS of their cars, which may give the capability to change settings that can have unintended consequences. I often find Occam's Razor useful
