About time they started making batteries in the UK, rather than importing them from China.

It’s being built a few miles away from me, I believe it’s focus is on batteries for high performance EVs and trucks…. We have Nissan making them here too but of course just for their own cars.

I wondered why they were still using Li-Po rather than the much safer LiFePo4.

Lotus have already signed up with Britishvolt.

The electricity needed to power the plant is being sent from a hydro-power station in Norway via an undersea cable so trying to be as 'green' as possible. The government has invested £100m in the project. Good news for the north east.
