AMi III tyre pressure kPa to PSI

I’ve searched every setting but I can’t manage to change the tyre pressure display in AMi III to use PSI. In Australia we don’t use kPa at all but there it is. It may as well be measured in balloon breaths for all the use it provides.

It is in "System Settings - Units" as far as I remember.

Also what version of firmware are you on - worth getting the upgrade done to the version in my AMi III setup tips thread. It maybe one of the things that wasn't in the earlier versions.

Ok, the info I posted above is incorrect. I checked my car just now and it seems that you can change serveral units there in the above setting but not pressure.

That said my car shows PSI so there must be a way to change it. I tried changing the language to us english in case it was linked to that but also no joy. Could be its a dealer only setting then.

Thanks Adam, yes I checked that thread first. Good job putting that together. Seems like I’m stuck with it as I’m guessing it’s a country specific thing.

I am on an older version of the software, 3.0.something. Overall it works nicely though. I can forgive this single indiscretion.

According to my manual, this is how you do it on older cars, where the pressure is shown in the small display.

Is it different for cars with the AMi III or do you still have the reading in the small display and the READ button?

Well it is definitely worth a try doing that as you never know, but the AMi III manual says that you should change the units using the menu option I mentioned earlier, and directs you to page 4.17 - which then duly shows how to change everything except pressure units!

Ok, you have the pressure reading in the big display then, so I doubt my advice will work.

Deffo worth a try as wouldn't be the first time something was undocumented like that.

Yes in AMi III is all fully integrated as it should have been all along. Full screen tyre pressure monitor page on the central screen, right next to option for the power meter, which is my favourite toy on AMi III....

Good stuff, did not know about the power meter. AMi III does look like a big improvement for infotainment, but does it also means that the screen must always be on & open? No more cruising with the closed lid and the more "classic" look?

Yes its a huge leap forward, the sat nav is brilliant too! Full mp3 tag reading and artwork display from your music library too, which is also a bit step up.

Well there's nothing you cant really do with the lid down that you couldn't do before as the steering wheel buttons still work for tracks and phone which are the only key items you are likely to want with the screen down I guess.

Thanks EVR. As Adam says they direct you to the settings panel which has all options bar tyre pressure.

I have to echo Adam’s comments in that it’s a really good system other than one little thing. I like how when you turn knobs and do other things the screen proves an instant update, e.g. fan speed, volume etc. it’s very nicely done. The final iteration of the waterfall controls are also well laid out with a nice clean look.

They are indeed. It's just a shame you miss the pen, a small detail in the grand scheme of things but I like it.

Sorry to hear the old pressure unit procedure did not worked.

Its easy to do but you change your speedo to MPH and then its goes to PSI, I have just sat in mine and done it. Hope this helps.

Ha. Thanks. Bonus if I do this is I can tell the officer, honest I was doing 60, my Speedo said so.
