Morning all.

As I said in my new car thread, I am bound to have loads I little questions, so first one.

Passenger side window doesn't drop and rise on door opening and closing. Top of the glass didn't foul the trim above and sits on the door seal. Driver's side works as should. Tried reset as per manual.

Any ideas please?

Does it drop correctly when you operate the switches in the door? And does the "one shot down" work? (there is no "one shot up", btw).

Two possible things that spring to mind: switch in the door handle not sending a signal to the door module or door module(s) itself.

I believe there is a routine to reset the door modules after a battery disconnect so, as it's non-invasive, I'd try that first. I don't know it off by heart and I don't know if it's in your Owners Guide, but you could either search on PH as I'm sure I've seen it here, or someone with the knowledge will probably be along shortly

One more thought - does the "short drop" work when you open the door from the inside door handle? Or not at all?

Hi LTP

No sorry drop either handle and already tried the reset: press and hold for 5 seconds in either direction.

One touch drop works.

Cheers Steve

Hi Steve,

No expert on this topic here, but it's beginning to sound like a door module. I don't know whether it's worth a "hard reset" by taking out the fuses or disconnecting the battery then resetting from scratch, as the reset you've done is to reset the glass travel limits and the module is still powered throughout.

As your car is an early one then I believe the early door modules were problematic and the later ones are much improved (I don't know when the changeover happened). The only downside is that you have to replace them as a pair.

Did you buy it through a main dealer? You mentioned that you had a sheaf of invoices from AM Works. If it was dealer bought it might be worth asking them if they can have a look, as it's clearly not working correctly.

Try the fuse then. Not from a main dealer. Cheers

Try the reset procedure a few times in succession with the engine running (so you have max volts) - this has worked for me a couple of times during 9 years of ownership. For some reason my passenger side is always more reluctant to reset.
