Anyone come across this V8V S
Discussion
Hi guys
After what feels like years trying to find the dream V8V I’ve come across this
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202204054...
Seems to me to be a nice price and decent kit (the seats) and apparently full AM history (I’ll find out what that includes next week) I feel it’s been sale for a while though so if anyones come across it in person or otherwise what do you think about it?
AM Leeds have a nice SP10 which is sadly more expensive and I would really love a blue Aston
I feel the hunt for a mako blue one will never come to fruition sadly
All the best

MOT history looks good - only ever a couple of advisories for tyres close to the limit. It averaged about 2.5k miles per year for the first 3 years of its life, then about 5k miles per year for the next 4 years, recently been doing closer to 3k. So it's been in regular use. MOT dates are always around Sept/Oct. so it's not been MOT'd for sale by a dealer out of sequence to put a full MOT on it.

I phoned up about this car roughly 5-6 weeks ago when I was on the lookout for a cobalt blue S. I personally wasn’t so keen on the seats/red callipers/black strakes, these might suit other people but not for me. Seemed a genuine car though, salesman seemed a decent chap and I can’t understand why it’s still around? I bought one privately near to me, the blue really pops in the sun and the S box sounds the dog danglies!

Signs look pretty promising so far then! I’m tempted to make the trek down there on Monday (it’s a blooming long way) but might be worth it from early signs!!
With 36k on the clock it's definitely worth checking if it's had a new clutch. If not, you need to budget around £3k - £6k, depending on what you go forWoots said:
Is that circa how long they last on the SS2?
Knew there was a reason I wanted a manual…
Not necessarily. Like all clutches, it all depends on how they are driven and, as an SSII it unlikely to slip the clutch like you can on a manual, the changes should be more conducive to clutch life. But you can abuse an SSII clutch by doing daft things like reversing up hill. From what I’ve read Vantage clutches can last between 12k and 80k miles.Knew there was a reason I wanted a manual…
