Hi chaps. My Nav display is stuck open and displays 'Insert Disc'. (MY09 V8V SS). Only bought 6 weeks ago. I didn't get any DVDs with the car.
The FAQ page refers to ordering Volvo discs. MMM or MMM+. My car has MMM unit in boot, LH side with DVD slot. I guess it doesn't have HDD anywhere but don't know. Car is Australian delivered. I will try local Volvo franchisee, but need to know exactly what to ask for.

I don't know, but there is some information on the Frequently Asked Questions topic (find on front page).

When the subject has been mentioned before, there has been reference to buying discs through the internet.
Hopefully your question will be answered by those who know.

Hi Jon, yes, I referenced the FAQ page in my query. I was hoping for a bit more specific information.

OP I posted a few years ago all the details on which volvo discs to order. I can probably dig out the info again if you really need it, but speaking from experience (DB9 same vintage as your car, and same country) the satnav is woeful when compared to Waze or google maps. I haven’t used the DB9 satnav for ages now, just use waze on the iphone in a holder stuck to the vent. If you are really keen you can upgrade your system to wireless apple car play, but I would not go hunting volvo satnav discs. Just my 2c worth.

The Nav display stuck open.. you do need to fix that tho’ smile

Be aware that the last (latest) discs for the CD sysyem are 2016 info, which also have full postcode search (UK disc). I find the system perfectly usable; in my case mostly for last mile in european cities.I 've used the cheap ebay update discs, and they work just fine.

I need Australia New Zealand map set. Doubt UK vendor would carry them.

I was guessing that the reason the unit isn't shutting down was because it wanted a disc. I have no idea how these devices are supposed to work normally as I have never seen it working.

Im hoping to upgrade to Android/Google maps, parking cameras etc, but without the MMM player working that may not be an option. Audio works fine. Just cant get the display to show anything but 'insert disc' I was hoping a valid disc would bring it back on line. In addition, the MMM is keeping the amplifiers powered up intermittently, so the battery goes flat overnight sometimes. I'm using the battery isolator until I sort this out.

Open the unit to check there is not a disk in there, this is the message you get if the disk needs a clean or unit is having trouble reading it

Have you tried pressing and holding the “Nav” button on the waterfall? On later variants this will close down the nav system and lower the screen, so may work for yours to close the screen until you’ve sorted the right DVD
