Repairing the dashboard display

As many owners of older Aston Martins have observed, the polarizing film on the dashboard display made the screen unreadable. I spent the last 3 days repairing the dashboard display on my 2007 Vantage. Some owners have repaired this screen with varying results
It’s a challenging project but I believe, with some patience, can be done by an experienced DYI.

well thats a very impressive and comprehensive write up.
Way beyond what I (or I suspect many owners here) would ever attempt themselves, but thank you for taking the time to document it. May I suggest you should add a link to it to the FAQ thread above.
As an aside - any idea how your display became so damaged after just 10,000 miles, so I assume we can rule out burn of the display from being "on" so much? Thats ultra low mileage for a 15yr old car - maybe sun damage?

Yes, it is covered with polarizing film. The "delaminating" will occur about 2+ years after experiencing the instrument panel (I live in Florida, too.) There have been a couple of other mentions on this forum of the HVAC delam. (Some call it the radio display.)
