There must be numerous comparisons of different Aston Martins for the same money.

Here is a pair to start the topic.

Similar engine power; older car has lower mileage; one is manual the other auto.

You are a rascal sir. I think you know which one the majority of the posters in this forum will vote for! It’s nice to see that the prices for six speed V12Vs are starting to firm up, finally playing a little catch up with the manual DBS cars. If you timed it well, you could have picked up one of these for the low £70’s possibly even high £60’s before the pandemic. How long we will be able to drive these wonderful cars is anyones guess, but for the avoidance of any doubt, I’ll pick the one on the left hand side too.

Old one for me....just from a financial perspective, its already done its depreciating whereas the new one has probably another 30-40% to depreciate over the next few years

Old one for me every time but I wouldn’t pay that for a v12 vantage either tbh. Great car but that’s a lot of money for a vantage. Doesn’t even look like an S?

Its not an S, they came out in 2013.

For that money, can I throw a good low mileage 2010-2011 DBS Auto into the mix.

Recently sold my Vanquish volante back to an AM dealer had it for over 3 years and lost only £4K but car now up for sale £4k more than I paid for it back in 2019.

Seems that V12 cars (non turbo) are what people are after.

Yes, it is a superb car, no question, but because these are in such demand IMHO the autos are being neglected and these represent very good value. If I was buying another one, I would go for an auto. Maybe I'm just getting older.

Ignoring personal spec preference (paint, trim, etc), the sweet spot remains with the late V12 Vantage S with SportShift III. The gearbox suits the car so well.

Haven’t been on AT for nearly a year as I found my “forever” dream car, but this low mileage 2017 MY example is a relative bargain compared to the manuals…



It has Apple CarPlay built in, although Aston Installations can help any Vantage S lacking this. Makes a surprising difference in use ability.

If wanting to think of post-VH cars, what about a later DB11? Another car that I think is undervalued, but may unfortunately depreciate still quite a bit more than a VH V12 Vantage?

In the future, I think the top bargains will be the DBX which will, unfortunately, likely depreciate like the Rapide S, which is the now the pinnacle of modern Aston bargain-dom

I've had the manual and TT DBS. I prefer the flappy box version, I think the V12V is much more suited to the manual gearbox but in the DBS, the auto is a pleasure.

the new v8v will probably depreciate quite a bit over the next 3-5 years. the old v12v... will probably rise.

I picked mine up in July 2019. And it was high £50k's I paid. One of the very first 2009 cars with higher mileage at 36,500 at the time. But lightweight seats which was key for me. Never selling it.

Another DBS beauty at that dealer.
The same age as my Vantage.
I thought my car is not being driven enough at 18,000 miles, but 1,724 miles in 13 years, that must be ridiculous!
