Any guesses on price ?

Ultra-luxury, V12 Vantage Roadster limited edition. A very special final edition car. Say £400,000 probably available to selected customers only.

I heard £60,000 on top of the coupé price Jon. So once fully specced slightly below your estimate. That was a few months ago though. I think the official reveal may be this Friday so perhaps we will know more then. We shall see.

If I recall it correctly, he was a gentleman who had a V12 coupé on order?

I think the gentleman said he had been 'assured' by AML and dealer employees, that it was Final and there would not be a Roadster.
Did he later post, that he was offered a [red faced] compensatory deal of some kind ?

It’s all in here if you have the time to read through.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I seem to remember three posters who were certain there would be no roadster. One was fairly new on here and hadn’t posted often. The other two both had coupés on order, and one of them had a document from his AM MD stating the car he ordered would be the last V12. Many on here recall what happened with the previous cars and said so months ago. And it looks like history will indeed repeat itself.

ETA…..I believe he did Jon. I think he was offered the option to cancel his order when AM changed their story, or have it built and delivered, and then decide whether to take it or not. I recall seeing pictures of the car when it arrived, but I’m not sure what he actually did afterwards.

Only temporarily - there will no doubt be other variants given previous AM history - perhaps when they facelift they will offer the V12 as a standard alternative to the 8 or perhaps that’s wishful thinking.

I just can’t bring myself to deal with that price! I do like the new V13 vantage but even by Aston Martin’s own standards that is not good value for money!

Yep - I will take it to my local takeaway and ask them to translate mine to me!!

Fortunately this bit was presented to me in English on LInkedIn, but I’ve read it twice and am still none the wiser getmecoat

Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, adds: "From a design perspective, V12 Vantage Roadster is a combination of living sculpture and physiology, such as the functions of an elite runner or thoroughbred racehorse. On one hand, much like the way their systems are developed to handle the stresses of peak performance and trained to work together to increase efficiency and power using oxygen, V12 Vantage Roadster was designed to maximize the benefits of airflow into, throughout and around the car. And on the other, for our Drivers, we created this explicit open-top sports car for those craving excitement and drama. The platform presented us with a design opportunity to make a contemporary visual statement of intent. The result is a living, breathing, driving sculpture with a level of control that sits at the fingertips".

That email is in Japanese, and contains the usual blurb, and also a link to the Roadster configurator, in Japanese, but it`s live on the the English AM website.
