Morning,

I'm having my local Aston dealer fit PN: HD33-5E211-AA, which are the the secondary cat delete pipes from the Vanquish S.

1. I don't need to remap the car or anything else do I, it's just a straight forward swap ?

2. Will it still pass its MOT ?

3. I've read on many chats about the noise but it was a while ago and I can't find much now - I like the noise of the engine now, in sport mode it gives a nice burble when you lift off, I just want it slightly louder, but not too loud, will this mod do that ?

Thank you.

Well worth doing, done mine myself less than 1/2 hour after jacking up.

No problems with MOT (mine passed no problem) the Vanquish S has cat delete pipes as standard, its not too noisy but you will hear the difference when you accelerate.

Make sure that the dealer gives you the old pipes back.

1 - correct no remap needed.

2 - yes. the car has primary cats also, so just make sure the car is warmed up before doing the emissions test. Several models, including the Vanq S dont have the secondaries from new so the mot is passable with a little care and attention.

3 - very subjective. removal of the secondary cats does make it quite a bit louder, so if you have such a thing as "too loud" then Id suggest you listen to another car with them off before proceeding. Most people seem to enjoy the car more with them removed, but not everyone has the same tastes.

I think so, they seem to be the correct part for the V12V. I took my old set off my V12VS and they fitted perfectly onto my AMR Rapide, so if they fit from smallest chassis to largest chassis models I would be very very surprised if they dont fit the Vanq also.

I purchased mine from Grange AM in 2019 about £600.00 ask for Daniel in the parts dept on 01277 249500, best to source two new gaskets as well which are 4G43 5E281-AA.

(Edited 3600 to £600.00)

Thanks guys, I'll give Daniel a call at Grange, I assume you meant £360, not £3,600 ?!

Its the primary cats that have been known to ingest in to the engine and cause engine failure. They’re the ones I’d be removing personally.

Just had them fitted at Aston Sevenoaks and they sound lovely. On cold startup, the initial rev blast is louder and it idles louder too but once warmed up it settles down to as near as before. When cruising around under 3k rpm it sounds pretty much as before but once you select sport and hold onto the gears manually it really sounds a lot meatier than before, the noise is the same, just amplified and the burbles and gargles on the overrun are brilliant, not too loud just enough with the odd small pop.

Very impressed, will try to get some sound clips up, if anyone is thinking of doing this for their V12 Aston, I would thoroughly recommend it.
