Meteor silver? - Vantage
Discussion
After advice, are there two shades (or more) of Meteor Silver? There have been several cars i have liked the look of on Auto trader all saying they are Meteor silver yet looking very different hues of grey in the photos. Some look a darker gun metal grey whilst others are a shark grey look. Is it just bad advertising? I prefer the darker gun metal colour, is that not Quantum silver?
There are a number of "grays"/dark silvers that have been offered during the various gaydon era years.
Meteorite silver
Quantum
Mercury Silver
casino ice
tungsten
then more recently there's been
xenon gray
magnetic silver
and probably others I'm missing.
Honestly it's so hard to tell in pics due to lighting conditions etc.

My car is Meteorite Silver, and it looks rather different depending on lighting conditions. In bright sunlight it sparkles and looks silvery grey, whereas under cloudy skies it's more of a dark grey. And that's before you factor in the quality of the camera (or smart 'phone) used to take the picture. Best seen in person, I suppose, but that's easier said than done.MJ911 said:
this is what i mean, both advertised as Meteor silver, yet look very different to me. Same for many of the ads. Not quite so easy to say just go and see them as they are usually a min 4hr round trip away.
This is mine taken in sunlight at Blackbushe Airfield.
No you are correct, there are different shade of Meteorite Silver as the year went by also on the car it could be AST1344 or AST1344D which are both Meteorite Silver. Over the years I bought several touch up paint both from Aston Martin and other company claiming to match my Meteorite Silver Vantage but I would say that none really matched it. Some a little too dark, some a little too light so I ended up mixing a little of each to get as close as I could to the correct color. Of all the grey and silver, it is the one I like the most, good luck with your purchase
