I have a Lime Essence Aston being brought in for me, based on pictures alone. Has anyone seen this color in the flesh? If so, is it Green or Yellow (or both depending on lighting)? I am looking for insight while I wait it's arrival.

I would say green but my wife always says I can’t tell colours apart! It’s a very bright neon colour. Which model Aston is it ?

There's one down the street from me - I would say closer to yellow.

I didn't realise it was an actual Aston colour, I had assumed it was a wrap until now!

Lime Essence was the launch colour for the 2018 Vantage.

It does have a hint of green, which is perhaps more noticeable when comparing with a yellow car.

The pictures I have seen look Yellow, but some come across more greenish.

I think most casual observers would simply describe it as a yellow - despite there definitely being a green tint to the colour.

However, Aston have placed Lime Essence under the 'Greens' category on their online configurator but the more traditional yellows, like Ultra Yellow and Cosomopolitan Yellow, are under 'Bronzes & Oranges'...

Surely the clue is in the word 'Lime'?

Limes are green, lemons are yellow. Or so I thought.

"Lime green sits right in the middle of yellow-green and yellow on the colour wheel."

But then again my Focus is called silver but it looks gold.

Amusingly, when I click on the picture it comes up with the caption: "A red car is parked on the beach" smile

Maybe my eyesight is worse than I thought. biggrin

It is the color of a highlighter used to highlight text books. Not a favorite of mine for sure.

It will be interesting to hear what you think of the colour on the DBX when you see it. I never liked the Vantage in that colour in pictures or in real life but just after it launched I did see a DBSS in lime green at a car show and it looked fantastic. Not sure why, but my wife and I both liked it - perhaps because it was a sunny day and it was surounded by exotic cars at Salon Prive (I think). Haven’t seen a DBX in lime green except in pictures but I think it is a colour and a car you need to see in the metal to appreciate.

As AM are pretty tricky with their paint blending I think they`ve taken predominantly yellow hue mixed with a green to give the effect. If you look at a Munsell Hue Circle you see where green and yellow colours over-lap they have a very similar hue. With Lime Essence, in some light you can see both the yellow and green hues. The yellow is strong in direct light, with the green more blatant in the shadow detail.
It`s a bit like the age-old tennis ball quandary...
