Red and clear rear light modules the same

Does anyone know if the led modules/sets within the lights are interchangeable?

Yes they are. The leds on the circuit board are red and orange

Do the cars need to be recoded with AMDS if the lights are changed? I can't see any reason why they would need to be, but Works sell them on eBay, and the advert suggests they do.

No coding needed just swap between Red and Clear and you are good to go

The light units are the same quality that's for sure

My OE red lights failed due to water ingress, failed MOT and the dealer had a special offer on clear lights so I went for some of those a couple of years ago. Now the clear lights are misting up nicely.

Next time I will have to pay one of the repair companies to do the job properly and re-seal the light units after fixing.
