Anyone on here used a petrol fuel system cleaner for their car?
Not sure if they do more harm than good?

I use them, they do indeed work. They do indeed do what they say. Keep the injectors, combustion space and valves cleaner than they would be. Started using it in my Vanquish when I bough it and actually noticed the smoother tick over after a few months.
It was using fuel system cleaners on 10,000 HP marine diesel engines that proved to me that they were not snake oil.

Not a problem, the car was run low of fuel and did not start so had to get a Jerry can and put fuel in,
You never know what you pick up when it’s run low just wanted to clean it out a bit now

You would be better off changing the fuel filter.

There are additives in modern fuel that do all the cleaning yuu need. Unless your car has sat for years, nothing extra is needed.

Just use E5 super unleaded petrol which has better cleaning properties anyway.
The filters will remove any particles anyway and super unleaded contains less varnish that can foul the injectors.
Only fuel "cleaner" you could ever need is if you suspect some water in the fuel/tank and there are "blenders" out there that will allow the water to stay in suspension with the fuel to burn it off.
A really good additive to petrol is ZX1 at just 50ml per 100 litres which blends with the fuel and reduces friction wear in the pump and injectors.

ESSO Supreme is ethanol zero in many areas of Great Britain (refer to ESSO website for location info).

Would that be even better ?

I now use it in all my cars and most importantly the lawn mower (which hates ethanol).

I use off the shelf cleaners once a year give or take. I cannot say I see proper benefits, but for the peace of mind and the low price, I think it's worth it.

For the record, I always put Q8 100 octanes fuel in mine, rarely 98 when I am in Switzerland.
