Rapide S shock absorbers don't need replacing in pairs?

Hey there,
This is my first post here so hello! I recently (3 weeks ago) purchased a gorgeous Rapide S, which I absolutely love. I never thought I'd ever be able to have such a beautiful car. It's a dream come true.
Anywayyyy, I bought it from an Aston Martin dealer (with a Timeless warranty) but still had a post-purchase inspection. The inspection found that one of the front shock absorbers has been leaking for a while. The dealership is replacing it under the warranty, which is great. However, I've read that if one shock absorber needs replacing, both on that axle should be replaced. But Aston Martin themselves insist that this is unnecessary in this case because the Rapide S uses an adaptive damping system. The engineers have said if it wasn't adaptive then both would indeed need replacing. This isn't because Aston won't cover the second shock under warranty btw.
I just wanted to gauge people's opinions on here as am still a bit worried. And it's also good to say hello at the same time!

This is the norm with warranty’s I had a Corvette with a factory warranty and the same thing happened
Warranty will only replace what’s broken, if you had a tyre that had a fault. You would not expect both front or rear being replaced because of one having a fault.

If it's adaptive, then as the damping rate is variable, then there will not be a mismatch with the other side because they are effectively always mismatched to suit the conditions.
Normally, you would replace as a pair because the fixed damping rate of a "normal" damper will change with wear.
