Aston Martin is delighted to announce the appointment of luxury automotive leader and high-performance expert Andreas Bareis as the new Regional President for continental Europe.

“When I became CEO earlier this year, I outlined a need for the business to enter a new phase of growth with a new leadership team and structure in place to ensure we deliver on our ambitious goals. As we seek to expand our market share, product offering and customer experience across key European markets, I believe that Andreas is the right person to lead that challenge, with his international cross-functional business experience across the ultra-luxury and high-performance automotive sectors." - Amedeo Felisa, Chief Executive Officer at Aston Martin.

Bareis holds more than 18 years of experience in the luxury and high-performance automotive sectors and will lead Aston Martin's sales, marketing and customer experience operations.

Now, I am sure this guy is a good guy, but I would hardly call Mercedes, Lotus, or McLaren luxury brands - not sure they are even high performance (perhaps except McLaren?) brands. I wonder if he was recruited or ‘placed’ by PIF who also own McLaren?!

Depends how you define high performance - Mclaren definitely, Lotus possibly and Mercedes depends what level as Mercedes could mean anything from a smart car through to a Project One...
