DB 11 boot won’t open
Discussion
As above have recently purchased a 2017 Db 11 launch edition . Only have it a few days but the boot is stuck closed . It shows that it’s open on the dash which is extremely frustrating as the cabin lights stay on for a period . Is there any manual release on it? I’ve searched the net and tried everything with the key , swinging my leg underneath the rear but no joy. I can hear it trying to open when I press the boot opening but won’t budge. It’s going to Aston dealer next week for another issue but was hoping anyone here could advice tia
Had the same with my Vanquish. There’s an emergency boot release handle inside the boot, may be the same on DB11?
I called AM assistance and was told that my luggage had probably shifted a bit and dislodged the handle and, to compound matters, the was no other easy way in.
The solution they proposed was to try driving in a manner such that the luggage would be further/re- shifted and the problem resolved. A few minutes of my Vanquish thinking it had been stolen did indeed turn out to solve the issue. .
The handle in the boot is now taped down to prevent anything else snagging it.

Thought I had heard of this before on the db11- https://youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DnZqnIVsQ9MI&ve...

Thanks yes I have tried that ! No joy. I can’t believe Aston haven’t fitted it with an emergency release ! Loving the car but Tks tad annoying !
The DB9 has one. The manual explains how to use it: 'The boot can be opened from the inside the boot by pulling the luminous emergency release handle'.Handy for kidnap victims, and as the boot is dark they've thoughtfully made the handle luminous. It doesn't explain how to open the boot if you aren't already inside it, however.

You don’t want to know , Aston told me to lift the entire rear lid off but I managed to get through the rear seat after removing a lot! And then stretching your arm and banging the rear lock which worked eventually
Did you work out the root cause of the issue? ie was it the button, the relay, a controller, the actuator, or maybe a battery issue ?It would be handy for the rest of us to know if something as simple as a regular squirt of WD40 would possibly prevent issues developing in the first place.
