Advise on purchasing a DB11 after a Rapide
Discussion
Dear all,
I had a Rapide for the longest time and was quite happy with it. After 5 years, I only put 40k km on the car, and the car gave me no issues. I mean nothing, aside from the few service appointments I never visited my Aston dealer.
Sadly, the Rapide an excellent car it is, suffers from what any other four-door performance so-called car suffers from. I am selling my Rapide, and with the proceeds, I would very much like to purchase a launch edition DB11. I found the AMR V12 to be very loud (I got a headache driving it for an hour), and I do not like the V8 version.
I found several V12s near my location, but all are of high mileage. I narrowed it down to two cars:
1- 70k km mileage at around 105k USD 2017 model
2- 40k km mileage around 120k USD 2017 model
I never considered any car at such high mileage (the highest mileage car I ever purchased had 8k on the clock). I will have both cars obviously looked at etc. but i am curious to know if anyone had any experience with high mileage DB11s and what to watch for..

I did find the db11 launch edition much more pleasant than the AMR version that came after. Rapide was a wonderful car for me and a heavy 4-door car, whereas I have always been a fan of a two-door. I grew tired after five years of owning the car.
So I am just curious to know if you have any thoughts on purchasing such high milage cars given how much i like to have a db11 V12

I can't speak for high mileage Astons, but generally I've chosen high-mileage cars simply because you get more car for any given budget. If they have a good history and the owner obviously cares about his cars, mileage wouldn't concern me. But there are certain things with any car that need to be done at (say) 100K miles, so make sure they happened. Research to find out what to check. Also, in my experience cars bought from dealers have more problems than those sold privately.30K miles in five years doesn't sound too scary to me.

Agreed. I can speak for my own cars after 30k they have been in more or less great condition and I am not particularly a great car owner. The trouble is i like the car with 50k on it more.. the exterior color is far nicer than the boring black..
Maybe get an independent expert to check it over for some peace of mind.Is it trade or private?
