Its absolutely beautiful . I was looking at a nice useable V8 at HWM last week when I picked up my Vantage , that beautiful smell from the leather , I had forgotten how good a classic Aston smells .

Nice indeed. I nearly bought a 1986 Volante that was offered for sale in Saint-Tropez. It sold for €185K. Another one sold at the Bonhams sale at Retromobile this week for €180K.
One thing that puzzles me, the description says it was the 1989 Geneva motor show car whereas this one recently sold pretending also to be the 89 Geneva motor show car. I doubt AML would have exhibited two V8 Volantes at the same motor show.

Edited to add I prefer the BBS wheels on that last one!

I always thought that the classic V8 was one Aston that always looked better as a coupe (or Saloon as AM described it). Also prefer the classic ‘power bulge’ look which wasn’t styling, it was there to accommodate the airbox on the pre series 5 carburettor cars and all Vantages.

I agree! I generally love a convertible, but the old V8s Volantes look a bit Heath Robinson and untidy to me. Still fabulous, but not quite as fabulous as the coupe/saloon to me.

Dropped my DBX off for service this morning and went to have a look. Great looking car but sadly my dreams of owning one were shattered when I sat in it and confirmed what I have always suspected - nowhere near enough headroom for me to use it ☹️☹️☹️

Oooh. I will try and pop in tomorrow and have a gander. Headroom is never an issue for a shorty-ahss like me.

I called in today to have a look. I saw a beautiful blue classic V8 (late 70's/early 80's) and a stunning year 2000 V8 Vantage Les Mans, yours for £430,000
