Do you ever pinch yourself...

.... as you get the car ready for a sunday morning drive and think... "holy s
t, i've got an actual real life Aston Martin."

I'm a year in to my lowly 06 V8.... not been out in it for a month or so until this afternoon, and had to shake my head and laugh to myself as I sat in it before turning it on earlier.

Yup every time I drive either of them, they put the tinglies up my spine. I never take any drive for granted, both are such totally amazing cars...
But I dont limit myself to just sundays, drive them both all day everyday. And so should you... The feeling doesn't fade just because you use them all the time!

LOVE mine.
Edit to add I agree about using them, it's only due to the salty roads i've left it until today... i've put 6k miles on it in 12 months, and most of that has been just for the sake of it, e.g on an idle Tuesday lunchtime.
Think I might have to go out now...

Had my V8VS coming up to 7 years. The longest I owned any car prior to it was just under 2 years. I still love to simply look at it, and sometimes find I still have a silly grin when piloting it.
Despite the flaws and foibles, the VH era machines were great and characterful motors. Worthy of the badge.

Totally agree with this, and likewise, I had owned 25cars before I discovered VH era Astons and none of those were kept more than 2years. Despite the flaws and foibles, the VH era machines were great and characterful motors. Worthy of the badge.
First bought a V8V, then a Meteorite V12V, and the Morning Frost White V12V which was kept 3yrs, and now Kermit >6 years and counting and the AMR Rapide 2.5yrs and also counting.
Neither will ever be sold, because there is simply nothing as good as either at any price IMHO. I know I would massively regret selling either.

As a big fan of the three piece from Houston, your username isn’t quite right. Just saying.

And I agree with you, I have the same thing with my F430!

Same with me - 18 months into my “cheap” V8V and I still can’t quite believe I own one of the best-looking cars ever to grace our crumbling tarmac….
I used yesterday’s good weather to have a raucous blast up to the Peak District - Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton and then a ‘spirited’ drive over the Cat &Fiddle tailing a Ducati that was louder than the Aston.
Happy days….

Yes, still can't quite believe I have one.
Walk through the garage several times a day as that's the way I go out when walking the dog.
Often get sidetracked looking at the car and wife comes to find out where I am as I've been gone so long.
Often take a cuppa or a beer out to the garage and sit for 10 mins while admiring it.
Last night went out with a cuppa and sat in the car listening to the radio (B&O is better than anything in the house for sound quality) as the wife was watching Emmerdale.
I actually find the whole ownership experience quite emotional and it's like absolutely nothing I've ever owned before.
Yes I pinch myself each time I walk past her. Here was a pinch moment, 3 astons and an R8 all hit the same bump but Audi RS5 was the only one with a flat and a buckled wheel out in the sticks. It was the only car with the spare tyre, how lucky was that. We did 2500 klms over 4 days it was a blast with some great moments that are now burnt into our memories. The roo, the bird, the bad roads, the police the laughter, the adrenalin and the magnificent rides we had
