Aston specialist who does pre purchase check in Exeter?
Discussion
Hi,
We are looking at getting into the heights of Aston Martin ownership, and having found a suitable car in the Exeter area, we would like the reassurance of a pre purchase examination of the car.
Does anybody know of anybody with Aston experience in that area who undertakes these examinations?
Thanks,
Andy

not sure if they do inspections, but really good AM specialist in Newton Abbot https://www.ajtech.co.uk/ ask for Will
Hi Guys.
Many thanks for the replies.
The car is booked in with Will at AJ Tech and it will be interesting to see what comes back.
I will hold back posting info on the car yet if you don't mind. I know that it's from outside the South West and previously had a different reg.
We are not letting our hearts rule our heads and if it's not the right one then we will walk away.

Following on from the above, I would thoroughly recommend Will at AJ Tech. We had the car checked over by him (3 hours worth) and it's quite clear that he knows what he is doing.
We are now the proud owners of a 2009 Aston Martin Vantage V8 4.7 and have to keep pinching ourselves!
Dealer pics;

The specification that we wanted was black, black interior, manual and 4.7, and having looked around for a few months we found this one that seemed good. It's done 45,500 miles and had a major service (including the clutch and flywheel being replaced) about 700 miles ago.
The front grill is not quite right and needs sorting (we were aware of this) but the rest appears good. Fuse 22 has been removed and it sounds lovely.
My wife took it for a drive yesterday and had the biggest smile on her face when she got back saying "I love it. I love it" That was the icing on the cake for me.

Wonderful.
If you want a little more orchestra (fuse 22 removal does not make much difference on early 4.7 cars), then you are lucky, because it is simpler on the 2009 cars.
Only one pair of catalytic converters. None in the manifolds.
Each cat contains two matrix cells, which I think are 900 cell and 400 cell.
Remove cats, internally cut out the 900 cell 'bricks', then an ECU adjustment is made.
A 3-way switch helps, if you want to have a choice of Open, Closed, OEM.
I have been delighted by having that work done. Dramatic when accelerating, a couple of discrete pops when changing up, but remains as quite as standard in the cabin at steady speed.
Enjoy your car.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Longy00000, Yes it's better when the wife is on board. She actually said that she hasn't tried the radio yet as the engine sounds so good!
Flow99, The company is Project Leven and they have just moved to the Marsh Barton area of Exeter. The photos were taken when they were still based in the home counties.
Dewi2, Thanks for the detailed info. It's certainly worth thinking about in the future.
Thanks again,
Andy
