Apologies if I’m breaking with protocol by discussing F1 on this site, but is anyone else out there as ‘Buzzed’ as I am about this season’s F1 prospects this year?
Granted, the racing has yet to start, but the new Aston seems to be showing plenty of promise and has raised quite a few eyebrows it seems. Even Lewis admitted that he’d probably be fighting for second place with either Ferrari or Aston Martin in Bahrain this weekend…..That’s quite revealing!
I just wish Vettel had been offered the drive alongside Alonso. That really would be worth watching, (But I still wish Stroll the best of luck regardless.)
Wouldn’t it be great to start seeing AM podium finishes at last?!

Hello Lawts.
I tried a topic like yours, but it was soon moved to the F1 section and quickly died.
Out of sight of course, for those of us who mainly only use the PH AM forum.
The 'Miscellaneous' topic was the replacement and has been the best place for us to talk about anything AM related.

Best of luck to Fernando.
I don't do sports like where you follow a club, like football, rugby etc, watch the odd England match but since getting an Aston Martin, I am totally on side of them in the Formula 1 arena. Prior to this I would watch the odd race if it was on but with no particular interest, but now I am thinking about getting a one off subscription to watch on Sunday, and now contemplating going to some aspect of the Grand Prix at Silverstone!
I have bought the F1 jacket and cap all ready!!

Another huge F1 fan rooting for Aston this weekend, would love to see them take the fight to the big three this year. Very exciting times if you are an Aston owner and an F1 fan
I am also a big Alonso fan, so its hopefully win, win all round.
I went to Zandvoort F1 last year and the Aston was by far the best looking car on the grid, the metallic green just glowed in the sun and looked stunning.

Well that’s a great shame, but I suspected that may be the case.
Anyway, hey-ho, I’ll get ready to be bounced any time soon! ??

If you want to, you could copy your original post to the Miscellaneous topic. Your continuing discussion is then more likely to remain in the Aston Martin section.
Probably then need a final post here, to tell other posters.

I’m also wondering whether to go to Silverstone. If I happen to get offered tickets, I’d be sorely tempted!

Totally agree, the AM cars are truly stunning. Let’s hope they can combine those looks with some good podium finishes this year.

Good results should really help turn the brand’s image and success if they do.
Yes!! It`s really looking quite promising this season! Early days, but pretty amped after testing and FP1, and comments from teams and commentators up and down the grid have been encouraging. Quali tomorrow will give us the benchmark.
I`ve followed F1 for many years, it was much more difficult when I was in NZ as most races were on during the early hours so my dedication was not absolute, but since moving to Europe I watch every race I can. The F1 TV ap works great for this, you can watch on your phone, computer, or screen share to your TV if you have compatible equipment.

Contact LS and mention your thoughts about providing £50 million to the team, for a tiny sponsorship advert.
Then you should be offered tickets. £50 million might just also qualify for a seat in the pit garage. -

Considered by some, to now be more business than sport.
For anyone who does not know, you may be interested, that Aston Martin's first Grand Prix was in 1922.
Forget today's 2 hour race limit.
How about 500 miles, on gravel roads with a riding mechanic ?
Both cars still exist today.
Lionel Martin (co founder of Aston Martin, is standing far right)
Driver - "Where are those two dozen pit crew employees, just when I need them ?" -
