Hello all,
I have a 2016 Vantage V8 and having the issue of water leaking into boat when I lift tailgate.
My car does not have the extra flip seals fitted.
The info below is in the PistonHeads Aston Martin frequently asked questions page but when I checked prices these flipseals are over £300 each side at a dealer and £145 each at Aston Bits.
Does anyone know where I can get them for the price suggested £33 or have an alternative solution please
Thanks
N

“Factory fix to stop rainwater going into boot when opening Vantage tailgate
The kit is called the Boot Ingress Mod Kit and the tailgate flipseal (you need two at 6.79 each) part number is:
6G33-25902-AA
Total cost was 33.58 fitted”

There must be Unicorn-essence in these seals....

The only I can think of is to search the net to find a similar rubber strip, in locations like:
https://www.rubberstore.eu/rubber-profiles-162/pro...
that "Foamed EPDM profile 7024 15x16 mm " at least goes in the right direction.
With a bit of patience you may be lucky - post your find here.
I can make you a sketch with measured dimensions.

How has a 2016 Vantage not got these fitted? I though they became standard fitment very early in the model's history.

Even with them fitted it's not perfect, particularly if the car is not on level ground (side to side), but is ok/better than without. So, if they really aren't there then I would be tempted to find the closest thing on eBay etc. rather than pay a ridiculous OEM price.

here you go:

All measurements in mm from a mounted, used strip.

Thankyou both for your help with this.
I’ll have to think about the best way forward for me as it is a lot of money for OE and I am not sure where I would find an alternative.
The info supplied will help me proceed if I can find a source so again thanks

Try CH Baines for rubber sections. I would also have a slightly longer length, based on experience.
