Hi.
Whilst giving the Vantage a clean this afternoon, I noticed that one of the wheels has a crack as shown below.

The wheel otherwise is in really good condition and hasn't had any knocks.
Anybody know of these wheels cracking like this?

Unlucky, AM wheels are usually pretty good if not the best finished.

Check to ensure 100% it’s not just a crack in the lacquer, then take it off and send to a specialist for repair, they should be able to weld that crack and refinish the wheel easily enough. I would advise not to drive it.

If a tester spots it it’s also MOT fail, wheel structure is compromised.

Well spotted.
Some centre caps perhaps, as a gift to your car.

Does anyone know whether those wheels (not diamond cut version) are still available new ?

Now that the SportPack cars are 10 years old, there must presumably be a steady demand for an occasional replacement.
I think I have a note somewhere of the original maker's name, possibly a Japanese firm.
Many Aston Martin wheels were/are made by Rimstock in West Bromwich, but not this one.

That is a shame.
I had a look at Companies House, they were hammered by the pandemic and had to close their casting facility, but looks as though they are still trading. Accounts are now a few days overdue, which never looks good.

So many jobs lost at a stroke. The pandemic had a terrible effect on so many businesses, but we only hear about some of them.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
I'm quite sure that it's good news. Just after posting the initial writing and photo, I removed the wheel nut and then very carefully ground the surface lacquer / powder coating away from the "cracked" area, and to my relief the crack doesn't appear within the aluminium. I'm therefore sure that it was the lacquer / powder coating that was split.
To be sure, I am ordering the jacking pads (was going to anyway) and upon their arrival I will take the wheel off and examine it carefully using some crack testing dye.
The photo is quite strange as within it the centre caps do look tired. However, they are actually in ok condition and better than appears in the photo.
Thanks again,
Andy.

Well it is cracked!

From speaking with the wheel repair places, the general consensus is that the wheel is scrap. So, I'm on the look out for a Sports Pack 9 1/2" x 19" wheel if anybody has one taking up space?

Andy.
