I saw these on Instagram, I thought it might prove interesting as we clearly know the DB12 launch is just around the corner.

I like the front, bigger headlights I think plus the front looks a bit more traditional, a nice colour and I look forward to seeing it

Car first registered 1st April 2023, Colour Black.

LS description.

Company chairman told reporters, Aston’s front-engined sports cars will be receiving updated suspension, engines and transmissions.
They’ll also feature heavily revised styling, plus overhauled interiors with fresher technology.

Mr. Stroll said, "Externally, there’s no similarity at all to the current cars, apart from some carry-over at the rear end".

Good find Ninja. I like it. The front looks much better. It will be interesting to see how DB12 looks as I would think many aspects of that car will form the basis for some of the other revamps across the range. Interesting times ahead for sure. Fingers crossed AM nail new new Vantage.
clap

Best Regards

I must admit as a current owner I am not 100% sure on the potential front end, I think alongside the db11 this means the full or half clamshell is dead. I do know from certain sources they have been a pain to get the right tolerances on, but it is one element I love.

I worry to some degree that if they go to far DB12 on the front end look it will lack its own identity as well.

It does to me signify they are copying some of the V12 Vantage elements over to the updated V8 though with the extra vents on the rear bumper and I suspect the front end will be very V12 esque merged with the DBR22

On what LS has said regarding transmissions and engines an interesting one. Transmission wise it could just be updated software and including the ZF GPS connection so it is readies the gear lower for obstacles. I doubt we will see a dual clutch gearbox, it won't be a larger ZF unit due to space. It does kind of scupper potential big power increases as well, unless they decide to go mercedes, but to my knowledge that is not transaxle as the dbx box is mated directly to the engine.

They are using Michelin Pilot Sports on the Vantage facelift? If so - good move AM.

Interesting mirror folding design??

Side-strake update/resdesign?

Bonnet very similar to the DB12.

More solid and finished-looking exhaust tips.

This could be the one I and many others have been waiting for. I'm tentatively impressed.

They still need to get rid of the bonnet shutline - it can’t be too difficult to engineer a bonnet that goes all the way to the grille

Looks like the same ones I have on my DBX707.

Front end looks much better, I never liked the tiny headlights on the current one.

Bigger headlights and some space between the grill and front splitter is a massive improvement

I think having seen the odd crunched bonnet on a VH car after light touch incidents some might thank the bonnet shutline not writing a bonnet off.

Prior to the launch of the 2018 Vantage, I cannot recall any previous criticism about bonnet shut lines.

Ah, but with these the front panel wraps round the sides with the bonnet inset. Which looks better than straight line across.

Still. I’m hopeful for the vantage look, don’t think more power is needed really.

Let’s see

Agreed. The one thing of the exterior of the DB11 that didn't work for me was the concave bit in the headlights.

Agree with this. Think the DB10 lights would have been a better choice.

I do wonder with the new cars if there will be more variations, like with the 911 platform. 4WD possible?

Doubt it on 4WD, that would require significant platform re engineering and would pretty much kill the transaxle nature of the GT and sports range.

To me as well if they were not RWD I would not go near one in honesty.

Ah I see, did wonder about the transaxle.

So the current generation were engineered without 4WD or hybrid capabilities. Seems somewhat short sighted.

They could hybrid it quite easily if sticking with the ZF box, by removing the torque converter and replacing it with hybrid components whether that be mild or full plug in.

The current crop essentially have a 2nd generation 8HP, the more recent one is 4th generation.

That's some chunky splitter, skirts and diffuser!

Could it be a "S" model as in the previous facelift V8 Vantage?
