First class service
Discussion
I’m still pretty new to the Aston ownership experience having owned my V8 Vantage for literally a year now, but what a great experience it has been.
So today saw my car serviced for the first time in my ownership, which was carried out at Peter Martin’s Aston Services. I have read on the forum before that Peter and his team came very highly recommended and my experience today cemented those previous comments. The level of service was absolutely first class and I could not recommend Peter and his team highly enough. I know my first Vantage will be in great hands going forward.

Very nice to hear. You guys up there in the ‘freezing void’ are lucky to have him.
The West Highlands and the Cairngorm are by far my favourite bits of UK btw. Used to be easy for me to explore up there, formative years in the lakes. The road to the isles, pre harry potter used to be utterly magical. We used to camp on the white sand beaches of Arisaig and Mallaig in the 90s before jumping on the Skye ferry. I would lay odds that that’s sadly not possible anymore…

One year, still in full honeymoon mode then!
If you have not seen it, here is a link that has become a frequent re-watch for me, and others too. Catchpole in an N430. I hope to get over to drive this, and others, in the next year or two.

This is great news! I am looking to get my first Aston (a 4.3 Vantage) this year, still looking and yet to talk to these guys but I had seen their reviews and thought it sounded too good, great to hear a fellow PHer has had first hand experience and it seems the reviews are right.
Interesting video too, thanks for posting that, just watched it and he seems to know his stuff. Fantastic.

Absolutely still in the honeymoon period, which I can’t see ever coming to an end :-)

I’ve watched that Catchpole N430 clip a few times, love the car in that colour scheme and the road looks amazing!

I can absolutely recommend Peter and his team, first class service with a tremendous amount of knowledge as well. If you were to consider buying privately I would not hesitate to reach out to Peter to arrange a proper pre purchase inspection. I bought from McGurks down in Warwickshire who are also first class and what a drive back up the road too :-)Interesting video too, thanks for posting that, just watched it and he seems to know his stuff. Slight guesswork by me now.
Did the Martin family run the Scotland main dealership, until a little while ago ?
Do the Martins still operate from the same premises as before?
The Edinburgh main dealer now seems to be part of a dealer group, which manufacturers might have found easier, until realising that public company dealer groups have considerable negotiating power. Several manufacturers now want something like the Tesla arrangement, ie. sell in a more direct way at fixed prices. Think they are calling that the Agency System.
I was interested to read that Tesla cannot sell their cars in at least one US state. It seems there are laws protecting motor dealers. Presume buyers in that state, 'click' (purchase online) and 'collect' in a neighbouring state.

The Edinburgh main dealer is part of the Grange Group now I think?

I have found some background on the internet.
Think now that Martins might have always been an independent Aston Martin specialist.
I did remember a change involving the main dealer, but could not recall what happened.

An absolutely fantastic watch that one! The music, the scenery, the Vantage and Catchpoles perfect presentation all seems to fit. I’ve watched it several times and it always makes me feel good!
Exactly the same in my opinion and that N430 is a cracking looking car tooMr.Tremlini said:

I live close to that route and drive it quite often (sorry Modena V8 but still nice enough). There are also loads more quality roads on that map and easy options for a circular drive of 4-5 hours.
