ECU key not pushing home

Has anyone else experienced this? On two occasions my ECU key could not be pushed home to start. After repeated attempts on each occasion it did finally work. I am new to my car (2017 V12SM) but am concerned that trouble with my 'receiving bit' is brewing and I am soon to be left stranded. For some reason I have two crystal ECUs and no valet key and on each occasion it has been with a different ECU so I am satisfied it is not a problem with the ECU but with the receiving bit. Has anyone else had this issue?

Whilst I am at it, has anyone else had an issue with the dash display reading the incorrect gear. Mine started displaying 5th when in 7th on a recent trip after a short period of flashing between 7th and 5th but has not misbehaved subsequently. I am assuming a sensor out of adjustment. Again, is this a common issue or am I uniquely blessed?
