V8 Vantage Parcel Shelf Lug/Locator

As title, I dont know what you would call the little lug that protrudes out from the carpeted area on the inside of the tailgate. Apparently, it locates inside the tailgate via a few screws behind the carpet and then protrudes through via a little slot in the carpet and allows the parcel shelf to rest on it as the tailgate closes.
As I have found without this the parcel shelf doesn't locate correctly and rather than laying flat when the tailgate is shut, it folds up in the middle restricting the view a little from the read view mirror.
Question, what is this little gizmo called/part number and where can I buy a new one from? Mine has mysteriously gone missing and I cannot find it anywhere.

Could be educational - my ‘07 V8V doesn’t have anything and the parcel shelf drops too far, which means I can see the luminous plastic boot release in my rear view mirror. Tried shortening the parcel shelf strings but it made no difference
If you open your tail gate do you will most likely have a small cut out in the carpet on the underside of the door ... if so, you will need the metal tab/locator ... whatever it's called. Basically, as you close the boot door, the parcel shelf comes down and meets with the metal tab stopping it from dropping too far down or like mine trying to fold up causing a ridge in the shelf.My car is in at Phoenix having a rear wheel bearing/hub replacement so I've asked them about it half an our ago and they have no idea what it is officially called but can get hold of one, so I've given them the go ahead to replace it.
Hi I have tried the bracket and it doesn’t help. I ask Aston Martin what the purpose of the bracket was for as only on the very early cars and some cars, like mine (2006) have the slot for the bracket but not the bracket. The later cars have no slot and then have a different shelf design. The bracket from Aston is plastic not metal.
The design of the shelf is that it is sprung to rise upward to the tailgate. The bracket is to keep the shelf down and not to support the shelf. Sounds odd but that is what the bracket is for. I have seen some early cars with the bracket and it generally just catches the shelf and causes wear on the shelf.
If you pull both bits of sting on the shelf you will note both ends move. I believe the solution would be to replace the hidden bit in the shelf that provides the spring to the shelf (probably a bit of elastic) but you will probably need to take the shelf apart.
The other option I have seen is to put holes in the shelf to allow the string to be a set length so un sprung. Or upgrade to the later version which is still available for about £1.5k as you will need to replace the trim on the rear pillars for the fixing.

Don't bother with the new Parcel Shelves. I got one of the first "new ones" and the side and front lugs became loose and the upper and lower layers of the board separated within a month!
Work with your old one and repair it. Any good trimmer should be able to make it right again.
Bond in the front and side lugs and adjust the hanging cables to suit.

Checked yesterday - my car has the slot in the tailgate trim panel, but no bracket.
However, looking at how the parcel shelf drops as the tailgate closes, there’s no way the bracket would hold the parcel shelf up - the parcel shelf is fully down before the tailgate is closed.
I guess I just need to shorten the parcel shelf strings a bit more…

Well after talking to the guys at Phoenix it appears they would agree with your theory. I decided not to replace the bracket for fears it may even end up causing damage (over time) to the material on the shelf.
