DB11 Hood/Bonnet won't open
Discussion
Took my new (to me) DB11 to get a smog today and they could not get the hood/bonnet open. The left latch would not let go. We all tried everything we could think of on the spot. I think the fuse is now blown because there is no clicking heard any more. The owner's manual indicates the fuse is under the hood/bonnet. The emergency cable pull on the left side does not work and is very solid when pulled. There is no spring to it like there is on the right side.
I pulled back the wheel liner and moved a relay box out of the way and I have decent access to the release mechanism. Anyone have any suggestions?

Use light pressure on the bonnet above the latch while someone pulls the mechanical release on the inside.
Check fuse and electrical connections and that both the mechanical release mechanism and soft close isn’t partially siezed or stiff. Lubricate and protect all mechanical mechanisms with WD40 or equivalent every year.

I seem to remember a video on YouTube that described this exact problem
The guy found the cable had broken off
It was a British video

I did find and watch that video. It was helpful to show how to pull the liner back and then move the relay box out of the way. My cable is still attached and does not appear to be broken. I had my wife tug and jiggle the cable and I could see a bit of movement at the other end.The guy found the cable had broken off

Good suggestions, but already tried. The fuse, as far as I know, is under the hood.Check fuse and electrical connections and that both the mechanical release mechanism and soft close isn’t partially siezed or stiff. Lubricate and protect all mechanical mechanisms with WD40 or equivalent every year.
