I know this has been covered before but the SatNav lid on my 2007 V8V is not opening. The motor that should drive it seems to run and it will open if I push it up. There were no nasty noises, it just stopped rising on its own. I have had a look for the link that I am sure exists that shows a step by step guide on how to fix it and also the parts that likely need replacing but unfortunately can’t find it. Can any of you good PHrs help please?

Here's a link to the bits.

Its usually the gear teeth that end up breaking or wearing out.

I think/hope that's what need on mine, I was blissfully unaware it didn't work as I never use it until it was highlighted at a service, now I know it doesn't work, even though I'll still never use it I want it working.
So how hard is getting the ski slope off? scratchchin

The top part is very easy, it just prises out. I’ve had mine in and out half a dozen times, it’s retained top and bottom by clips.

Everything you always wanted to know about removing and repairing the navigation unit on a 2007 Vantage.
