Here`s a can of worms...

So AI or artificial intelligence is all the rage on search engines and such like, time to revisit those classics like 2001: A Space Odyssy and I, Robot...

Bing have recently launched a free AI image creation on their search page. Being a photographer I have mixed feelings about all this, but thought I`d have a play anyway.

It`s text based so you type something in reasonable detail and it cooks up a few variations. It is a little random in its selections sometimes, and occasionally seems to have an issue rendering hands, eye details, and other bits and pieces. I`ve had a couple of three armed people and one or two amputees, but some of the outputs are pretty decent. The cars are not always exact, but generally quite close. Overall very interesting and a bit of fun! Until it starts taking over the world etc.

Here`s some of my Aston creations, it would be great to see what some of you folks can come up with too!

All very clever.

I would be interested to see the necessary text that is input, together with the resulting image.

For each image, I presume that you have stated precise information about the Aston Martin model you wish to be shown, together with a location and many other details.

Haha, confessions of a dangerous mind and all that. You can probably imagine the depraved thoughts involved, but it`s all quite logical and innocent actually (ahem) as the AI has a fair bit of leeway in its assembly of an image based on the info.

For example, it will often put a requested race driver or mechanic in high heels!? It seems to think that the versions of ladies you see here are the norm. If you suggest a person be normal sized, slightly large, plump or overweight it may do it, but generally hardly noticeable, or it pops up an advisory that it can`t do that, or it does it and you go "Wooo I wasn`t expecting that!" Lucky dip. I tried to make an image of a mate standing next to his Porsche 365 Speedster, he is generously proportioned but the results I got meant he was much more fond of his appearance in the image than real life, haha!

It usually outputs four versions at once, but sometimes it will only provide three, two or one.

Here is what I wrote for the below images;
"Create a realistic image, showing an adventurous female mechanic, who`s a bit dirty from work, with long dark brown hair tied back, wearing cargo pants and a white t-shirt, reclining in an antique wicker chair, holding an old book, in a large, gritty aircraft hanger with a DC3 Dakota, two classic motorbikes and a dirty green Aston Martin DB2 in the background."

As you can see it has left the car out of two versions, but in one of those the plane is certainly not a DC3! Often no matter what DB car you request, you get a DB5. Could be worse.

Or;

"Create a manga image, showing an adventurous female mechanic, who`s a bit dirty from work, with long dark brown hair tied back, wearing cargo pants and a white t-shirt, with floral tattoos on her arm, reclining in an antique wicker chair, holding a pistol and a glass of red wine, outside on the grass of a gritty aircraft hanger with a DC3 Dakota, two classic motorbikes and a dirty green Aston Martin DB2 and a post-apocalyptic in the background"

Or;

"Create a realistic image, showing an Aston Martin DBS rally driving on the moon with planets nearby and a steampunk style city in the background."

Somewhat random but fun.

Good to see Bing can count fingers. It seemed that MidJourney had a problem with biological fundamentals!

Been using Vizcom, now that's pretty powerful as you influence it with sketches. (I'm also in the creative industry and god knows where this takes us!)

Did you request the gas mask? - That seems a bit more random than usual.

Thank you Dean.
Remarkable.

Will you be 'working from home soon'? - smile

I noticed in the first example group, the lady's face looks normal, whereas in the second group, her face appears more like a cartoon drawing. Odd, but maybe that is what manga means..

Yes I did. Pest mask actually. I later refined it to Plague doctor mask. Going for that post-apocalypse look.

Correct Jon, manga is the name of the drawing style in Japanese comics & graphic novels. For example...

Yes, I requested the red pants!

Seems as though the girl sat next to the gold DB5 comes from Brize Norton - old joke, do I really have to explain?

You do to me, I suspect Brize Norton means nothing to people outside of England, or UK maybe, or I`ve been living under a rock. (Bloody nice rock, this.)

I have tried this new world of Artificial Inteligence.

Input text - 'Aston Martin during assembly'.
and here are the results.

I have just started at a very basic level, but should soon progress to issuing AI articles and pictures that can mislead voters before elections and create all sorts of havoc. Mr. Musk said no one will need to work when AI gets going. I don't think he mentioned how we can pay the bills.

This might all be rather worrying.

First world non issue… ask people in Israel or Palestine what they think of it. Or Ukraine… and many other locations around the world…. AI didn’t invent itself, it’s a creation of man and nothing more… think skynet.. Come with me if you want to live…. Just don’t let it become self aware…

Sorry Dean, these are all great pictures by the way! 'There was a young girl from Brize Norton, who had one long leg and one short one, to make up for that, she had a.....' and so it goes on. Apologies.

Thanks for sharing - very addictive! I can see what you say here. I tried asking for a white Isuzu Piazza and red Mitsubishi Starion for a Manga image with Mount Fuji in the background. Instead it gave me a Trooper and Lancer Evo respectively. At least the mountain was correct.

That said modern Astons do better. I love both the racing and rallying Vantage images you pulled together.

Good start Jon, I expect more great AI output and Musk-bagging in the coming days!

Had a Piazza for five years and wanted a Starion for ages. Had a thought! Will try Impulse and Conquest as they were the model names in the US, Will share if successful.
