Any of you Aston people attended Goodwood Revival?

For the first time in about six or seven years, Goodwood Revival dates (Sep 6-8) have not landed on a weekend that I already have something scheduled! Having wanted to get to it since I first became aware of the event, I`m seriously looking at getting in for 2024. With wife, pondering 8 year old son.
Has anybody here been before and have any inside tips or pointers?
Anyone else think of going next year?

I went a quite a few years ago.
It is a hugely popular event now, so you are wise to plan early. Tickets sell out well before the event.
Are there charity shops in Switzerland ? In the UK they can be quite a good source of pre-1966 clothing.
Wonderful that the majority of spectators attending, do make the effort to dress in period clothing.

Traffic queues can deley getting in, so arrive early.

I have a friend who entered his 1950s sports car at all the early Revival meetings, but times have changed.
He has not been an F1 winner, won Le Mans umpteem times, or triumphed at Indianapolis, so has not received an invitation in recent times.

If the weather is kind, you will have a great time.

Went this year for the first time with my boss and young teenage boss. Had such a good time, we’ve already booked two days for next year. Can’t wait! Unique event.

Tip - dress up as suggested. The majority of visitors do and it really differentiates it from other car events. Brilliant atmosphere.

A grand stand seat is useful but not essential. We’ll only book one for one of the two days as there was so much other stuff to see away from the track that we never got around to.

We’ve been for several years in our Vantage Roadster and always tag it on to the end our French summer holidays. We then return to England on the overnight Ouistreham or Caen Ferry into Portsmouth thereby arriving about half an hour’s drive from Goodwood at 7ish in the morning. This avoids the need for accommodation locally the night before and also avoids a lot of traffic. These crossings also tend to have a lot of European travellers in very interesting cars doing just the same thing. As you are coming from Switzerland I’d highly recommend this route in. I’d echo the comments about getting a grandstand seat as we didn’t this year and seating within sight of the track is deliberately lacking unless you take fold up chairs. If you don’t, you do feel a second class citizen.

I would always get a ticket with an upgrade to stand seating, better paddock access etc. Well worth it for a occasional attendance.

If you’re planning to stay overnight somewhere, you’ll need to book accommodation quickly as well. The Goodwood Hotel on the estate is nice, if pricey, but there are also some good gastro pubs in the area.

Thanks everyone for the replies, and apologies for the tardy response. Shortly after asking the question I buggered off to NZ for 7 weeks, and got thoroughly distracted!
