Well it is according to Autocar... Looks like the V12 might live on for a bit longer

As we know, there has been a tradition of alternating the top core model name, between DBS and Vanquish.
Hence the possibility of this model being called Vanquish.

The original plan was to replace the DBS with this mid-engine car, that was unveiled in 2019 as a concept.

I presume the decision to abandon that car was made, because a front mid-engine car is more practical and therefore, probably has greater demand.

The pre-interest article (no doubt fed by AML), included some of the standard new model announcement phrases;
Upgraded dampers; greater rigidity, more power.

Also intimated, is that 'Power, Beauty and Soul' might turn into, 'Power, Speed and Agility'. - smile

I suspect it will have to be mid next year, if it is V12 otherwise they will be very close to the euro 7 requirements which the AE31, at least from my understanding and discussions, it won't meet.

I have heard (note not seen evidence) of a prototype going around with a carbon body which would meet the general requirement of being dbs or vanquish

Did they not say, when they were selling the tooling for the previous vanquish, that they were unlikely to use carbon fibre bodies again?

Be fantastic to see the v12 again.

Only today i was thinking whilst driving up the m6 wouldn't it be nice if they did a v12 ‘comfort’ orientated DBX…

Tows 3.5 tons

Oppulent luxury (without the need for real hardcore handling and performance dbx770) with seats as comfortable as my volvo v70!!

Am i unique in wanting such a thing? The range rovers used to tick that box pre L322 and i loved them but reliability stopped me buying them.

Is it conceivable that Q branch camouflage their development cars to look like Jaguars on the road?

I agree with you totally, I had a V12 Rapide (2010 model) that was absolutely fantastic, and the reason I probably haven’t bought a DBX is that I am not a Mercedes Benz engine aficionado. Maybe a DBX 550 on 21” wheels and lots of comfort gizmos might actually have a market place, as it will be more desirable than a RR
