This may have been covered before, but if not...

Amazon was trying to get me to buy a 'DB5 replica experience' so I did some digging...

Apart from where the bodywork meets the radiator grille the outside looks quite good to my untrained eyes, but it all goes horribly wrong when you look inside!

Years ago, there were posts on AM PH, from I think an Australian man.
He had begun assembling a DB5 body, by making parts using 3D printing.

Have not heard any more about that project.

It's awful - absolutely awful. Just look at the steering wheel. That money allows you to buy an actually nice classic.

You have to wonder what makes anyone start working on something like this.

I like rebodied cars, I'm even OK with some look i likies but most aren't worth the effort - this is included in that.

For this price you could have got one of the Countach copies.

(Yes, I was joking)

Someone bought me one of those supercar driving day things a few years back and there was one of these there. Multiple men dressed in black tie queuing up to drive it and have their photo taken. I did ask one of the organisers what it was based on, and was the same, S2000.

That will be the 'experience' I saw on Amazon. In fact if you google 'db5 replica trackdays' you'll see it's all over the place.

It is fascinating that some folk are happy to pay their hard earned to have a pic of themselves dressed as their favourite not so secret agent and driving around in a fake DB5. I guess the photo op is king these days. Each to their own.

The one that Aston made for No Time to Day based on an e46 M3 was pretty amazing. Then again it did sell for nearly 3 million pounds.

Aston replicas are clearly capable of becoming a thing. Here’s a more budget-friendly option:

Apart from a Ford-style grille I cant see anything remotely Aston-ish about that.
