Can someone please advise me. Cars been running great then all off a sudden warning light came on saying "gearbox service required reduced function" along with DSC off. The car is a 2005 DB9? Regards Craig.

Also had a load of water in the side area's off the boot. Where the fuse box is. Didn't think this would be a problem as the box is on a bracket above floor pan.

It could be first sign of a bad battery or maybe something has happened upsetting the transmission module?, try to get any codes?

Have you performed a ZF gearbox service? Are the transmission lines leaking or at the electronics sleeve at the gearbox?

You say you've got water inside the boot, i know the rear wiring loom that goes around the rear subframe connects to a couple of plugs in the O/S rear wheel arch and disappears into the boot or car somewhere and also connects to the gearbox, could be water somewhere. Probably a good idea to give it a really good dry out and see what happens.

Mine did exactly same, stored code was range switch related can’t remember exactly, I don’t know why but I had a feeling it was the 2 year old battery despite it starting no problem.
Changed battery warning message gone!
Given the speed our cars “consume” batteries it might be a relatively inexpensive place to start.
Worse that can happen is the message is still there but your car has a brand new battery

I have a Db9 in for this exact issue at the moment. There wasn't any oil on the garage floor, but tonnes of it in the under tray, it was the gearbox cooler. Currently awaiting a replacement. Took the chance tomgive the gearbox a full service, sump/filter as well as the loom and mechatronic seals etc.

If you get stuck, welcome to give us a shout for a chat or some pointers at Aston Keeper.
