Anyone know the diameter of the gear stick rod?

Pardon my terminology but would anyone happen to know the diameter of this piece on a manual Vantage or DB9?

...in case you are looking for a cheap gearknob as basis for a DIY modification, try Volvo V50 or S40.
They fit onto the the V8V rod.

Thank you, I’m going to use a clamp adapter and fit an aftermarket weighted knob .)
