Hi - just curious on feedback re servicing. I have a 2011 V12V that was originally supplied and subsequently resold by AMWorks with a full service history from new all again at AMWorks.

It’s due its 14th service in the New Year and I’d just been planning to send it back to AMW. It’s been nice having that consistent history with Works, and I’ve no reason but to assume it’s getting a first rate service/inspection. And the collection/delivery service is a bonus. Pricing wise I just think it’s pretty market normal re cost. The cars been pretty robust and it’s about £1k average plus or minus annually.

Just interested not for any recommendations just experience and costs of alternatives as a comparison. Are they all much of a muchness. I wouldn’t rush to other main dealers, just liked the Works stamps. But car is older now so should I look beyond?

Cheers

It all depends on whether the distance is reasonable from your own location.
After having the same workshop looking after your car, a second opinion might now be worthwhile.
The Aston Martin VH guru in Warwickshire is Bamford Rose. The proprietor being involved with engine development at AML, so knowledgeable.

They maintain a number cars owned by the posters here.
The only drawback is phone contact can be tricky.

My preferred dealer would always be works , so carry on! They are no more expensive either.

All MD's should offer the same fixed price servicing.
HWM offer a mobile service for a small additional price but obviously convenient.
Works collection / delivery service is very convenient and within a set radius foc.

Mine is currently on a three year service plan with my MD which is paid monthly. It works out to £835 per year which I am happy with. As alscar said I always thought the service pricing across the MD network was pretty much the same, but I guess perhaps AM Works is viewed as the “halo” place to go, so maybe they can get away with charging a little bit more. Imho I see no reason to involve BR, but each to their own. BRM.

Both seem to get decent reviews but I’m surprised HWM are more expensive.

Thanks all. I will ask re a service plan as that could be good value long term.

Generally thought feedback was just reassuring that pricing is in line with others. I’m in the catchment for feee collection etc as well so always been a bonus.

Thanks for replies

I had my Vantage serviced by a respected main dealer for the first few years. No complaints at all.
I don't think they ever issued an inspection report to me, showing the condition of the car when they received it.

When I changed to BR they always issue a condition report. I expect that is partly done, to record any existing blemishes before they start work.
I do know there are some miniscule paint chips, in a position where no one would expect and cannot easily be seen.
I was impressed that BR note them in their reports, so there is one mark awarded for attention to minute detail.

Take a look at BR or Trinity Engineering’s websites and in particular the V12 service schedules.
I’ve used both & they are head and shoulders above what I’ve received from main dealers.

I’ve been using works for servicing the last 7 years using their free transport and they always fill out a body condition sheet when picking up. One year when delivering back my car there was another car still in the transporter and I was led to believe mine was last drop off. I mentioned that to the driver he said the customer spotted what he believed was a stone chip that wasn’t there upon collection, I asked what the protocol is with works about that and he said they would never argue that and just resolve whatever the issue is f.o.c.
