2006 V8 Vantage - swollen nuts
Discussion
Hi,
At my last service I was told that my 2006 V8 Vantage had swollen wheel nuts. I can still take them off and put them back on and they torque up just fine. A new set of OEM nuts is about £400 which is, well, nuts!
I bought another set off Ebay that are made by Bimecc. These are the right thread size, but look a lot smaller.
So the question is, has anyone fitted Bimecc nuts to their V8V and how did it go, or should I stick with the existing ones given that they don't cause me any problems? Car is off the road until next spring so no great hurry.

I had the same on my old 2006 V8V, I tried the Bimecc nuts but although they were the right thread they must have been slightly too short as they bottomed out on the studs. I came across some new OEM nuts for £250 so got them at the time. On my newer N430, saw the nuts were starting to swell so I got some 'Transit' nuts off EBay, but longer ones, 19mm instead of the OEM 22mm - but they are fine.At my last service I was told that my 2006 V8 Vantage had swollen wheel nuts. This question has been raised before and although there are some alternatives out there, they don't generally have the 'swivel' nut on the bottom to prevent damage to the alloy wheel when tightening (Which is alright on your transit....).
I managed to get a second hand pair from a fellow pistonheader, but you can get some from the likes of redpants.
