Vantage V8 2013 - Gone into "Battery Save Mode"
Discussion
Hi Guys,
My Vantage V8 2013 has suddenly gone into "Battery Save Mode" despite being on a Optimate 6 charger at the time.
The dash is illuminated with the warning message "Battery Save Mode" but I can not open the doors with my key fob.
I can open the doors with my metal key causing the alarm to trigger, but still can't clear the dash warning.
Car has been charging now for 6 hours without any change.
Any ideas much appreciated. Cheers.

Sounds like you need a new battery.
Also worthwhile is a charger that supports "supply mode" (check the manual on yours) so you can leave it connected whilst changing battery and in the current situation it could power the car (in the garage) until you get a new battery.
I also have an Optimate 6 and the manufacturer told me they shut down if they detect no battery. Thats a shame its not supported, I have a CTEK MXS 7 , about 10 years old and it supports "supply mode", you leave it connected up to the boot charge port when changing battery and it powers the car, so no loss of electronic settings. EvoOlli said:
To reset the battery safety mode you only have to start your car for several minutes and it is disabled again. Standard-Software shuts down after the ignition is on for a default time without starting the car. Nothing special.
Correct - I had the same a number of times when working on the car. Charging did not make the message go away, but starting always did. Please explain 'Battery save mode'.
Also, that button in the Vantage boot, close to the electrical socket for trickle charging.
What electrics does that disconnect and is the switch automatically turned back on at engine start?
Hopefully your replies won't be, read the handbook.
Thank you.
