Trying to get to grips with potential for 4.3/4.7 Vantage roadster as alternative to originally planned F type V8 or late XKR convertible (in the USA)...

Please sanity check:
It appears that although there are many parts bin adaptations from Volvo and Ford in many cases the exact part numbers are yet to be public knowledge and so for a large part you are tied to AM and similarly priced alternatives. This appears in stark comparison to something like a 911/Jag/Merc where any number of suppliers like Pelican Parts/FCPEuro/Vertex/blah.blah will list multiple different options for replacement dampers and the like. Is this accurate?
If so it appears that from the standpoint of someone who does much of their own maintenance and repair, an older car which might require suspension refresh etc., is a significantly more expensive option than a 911 or SL55 thing.
Have I got the right end of the stick?

cheers
