Best tyres for db11 v12 these days ?
Discussion
Hi all, I know the topic has been covered in the past but I have not seen any recent updates (sorry if I missed some !)
Are the Michelin pilot 4S still the best tyres to run on db11 (68reg) ? Or has there been new variants of late ?
Traction and getting all that power down is sometimes "interesting"
Looking for an all year Tyres as it's a daily and only car. Week days in London and weekends as far as the a full tank refill gets us !
Many thanks

I would certainly stay clear of Pirelli as they are quite poor when cold.
It seems to be taking ages for the PSS5 to become available outside of OEM initial fitment.
As the only realistically decent option to the (now somewhat ageing but still good) PS4S I would take a look at the Continental SportContact 7 if you can get them in the required size.

Without reading any very recent reviews ... I understand the Continental Sport Contact 7 are widely admired. The 4S is still a great tyre but I know a few that have fitted the 5 to Vantages and tend to like them.
I think come tyre replacement time I will be going the way of the Continentals.

Couldnt find the right sizes for the PS5S.
There isn’t such a tyre though - what was it you were looking at?There’s a PS5 (without the end S for sport), and a PSS5, which is only an OEM fitment and still not properly released as a retail purchase.
I’ve seen this commonly on the Ftypeforums where people variously quote PS4’s and PS4S as being the same tyre.

Pretty sure it wasn’t
Joking aside, it will almost certainly have been the PSS5 you were looking at...

Which actually has now been released in certain sizes for retail purchase...

Not sure on the middle one listed, but the top and bottom ones are Mercedes spec. compound.

There are currently just these 3 AML compound spec. 21" sizes available

These will be the OEM ones fitted to the current Vantage - interesting to see they are Acoustic versions.
Yet 75dB is not the quietest tyre and the non-acoustic front tyre version has the same noise rating.
Yes, it's frustrating that no 20" versions are released yet - I'd be interested in them for my AM6 Vantage Roadster too.
...and I purposely didn't want a 21" wheel (like on the F1 Edition) because I want to tour in the car and enjoy it as a GT and not a pseudo track car.
I haven't checked any prices but I doubt they will be cheaper than a PS4S, and since the Continental SportContact 7 is also not available in the 20" sizes I need it will likely be a set of PS4S that I go for when the time comes later this year.
Let us know what you go for.

From when I was checking there seemed to be only 2 options if you want to improve on the terrible 007 Bridgestone. MPS4S or the Potenza Sport (better grip than 4s, lower price but much worse rolling resistance and wear).
The Potenza Sport will not be around much longer despite not being an old tyre due EU regs.
Got to hope the 5S or the new Pzero is released in these sizes…..
