Steering fluid AM699999S
Discussion
Hello, looking at the procedure to change the fluid (you re in a nice adventure) i will be waiting a bit more, i guess its not good to mix this AM69999S fluid by topping it up with penzoline chf 11s?
what do you think, is it possible to find 1 liter of AM69999S and not 20 liters?
or can i top it up with the chf 11 ss penzoline? or what other product will do a top up and mix up with am69999s?
another thing. at each service the dealer added some injector cleaner, i have been well told by aml warranty never to use these aditives, are you aware about it?
one time i did before a tecnician aml checked my engine and he updates the o2 sensors due to my mistake and to check the motor out.

No, don't mix fluids. The CHF11S is the recommended replacement fluid to use, there was a service bulletin year ago designed to address inconsistent feel in the steering rack and some noise maybe.
It's a good idea to flush and replace the fluid if you've got any concerns on your steering rack, failure isn't common but not unheard of and replacement racks are really expensive so go down the preventative maintenance route first. There's a great video on Aston1936'd YouTube channel on the process (although on a Db9 not a Vantage though it's ostensibly the same).

thanks OLv i dont neeed top up finally i was wandering, i have seen the procedure and i dont like it at all, not easy and the end starting the engine pissed me off, waiting the coolant to go up 100 degrees etc...not sure i will attempt it, my steering is perfect i was just thinking of itIt's a good idea to flush and replace the fluid if you've got any concerns on your steering rack, failure isn't common but not unheard of and replacement racks are really expensive so go down the preventative maintenance route first. I changed power steering fluid on my vantage last year.
The additive can buy on auction sites or from scuderia etc at a much higher cost. It s a Land Rover additive, I had returned some from the auction site and then had it ordered from AM via scuderia and was exactly same as I returned.
Oil is also interesting as the brand mentioned no longer exists, was bought out by Fuchs, so you re looking for Fuchs Titan CHF11s

Apollya thanks i know the aditive is called Lubrizol, i already bookmarked it but seeing the procedure and knowing my steering has no flaw, i will wait maybe 2 years before doing it. but i looked and really dont like that kind of procedure, its how it is, i rather wait in my case. if the original fluid acts good with your car you know.
i will do it later as its important anyway but it has been a lot to do things lately for me already.

No worries, I have a squeaky steering column, which apparently is common, but I figured doing a fluid change according to the official instructions couldn’t hurt.
I did it with my old mechanic at his place and we used an extractor pump to extract and empty and then added to flush before removing and then filling.
It did help with the squeaking but did not fully resolve. It seems to be squeaky when colder and fine when fully warm.
