Fuel - Filling Up/ nearly empty DB12

So this is a weird one
Anyone who has a DB12 might sometimes notice that the car will not allow you to fully fill up. When you think you have, there is a CM on the display which shows like you have used it already.
So coming home yesterday, the car said 40 miles left (and ideally of course we would never let it run low) but we were out and going to drive 3/4 miles to fill up and seriously, the car chugged for the first half a mile and we had to go to a much closer filling station to our home - and then the car was fine!! So I’m thinking that perhaps the car is advising incorrectly on the amount left, also relating to what you put in, thinking it’s full. Not going to let that happen again
