I’ve bought a replacement set of forged alloys for my DB11.

They have come off another DB11 and have nearly new TPMS’s fitted.

My question is, when I switch the wheels over, will the car automatically pick up the new sensors or will I need to get them calibrated and matched to my car in some way?

Thanks.

On the DB11, yes, the system should pick up the new sensors w/o any programming. When you start driving a message should appear showing the four corners' tire pressures and asking you to confirm if you want to save these new readings.

That's the way it works on my DB11 in the US.

That’s right yes.

I had the same thought when I bought a set of DB11 winter wheels and tyres for my Vantage, but they figure out which corner they are on and just work.

It’s an unusually nice experience with all the tech nowadays!

This is my first day and post on PHs. Similar questions.
I have a 2008 Aston Martin Vantage. Yellow dashboard tyre pressure light on. Tyres pressure is perfect though. It’s due to 3 of 4 valves
Needing replacement. Quote from AM is crazy. I tried replacing all 4 valves vis Kwik Fit and their hand held machine confirmed all 4 are working now but the yellow light is still on. AM are telling me it won’t calibrate unless original AM valves are fitted. Very expensive is this the case. A retired AM worker told me it’s possible to adjust the circuit board to override this. Is this true and if so does anyone know how I find someone to do this please. Or is there an easier solution.

If you have the earlier Smartire system, you will need to code new sensors using the existing sensor codes, which are on each sensor label. I have used a Foxwell kit, which worked just fine. Search on here. Foxwell have a relevant youtube video

Hi Steve and welcome to the wonderful world of PH.

I too have heard there's a place, possibly under the glovebox, where you can stick a proverbial screwdriver to disable the light. Fortunately I don't need it, or perhaps somebody already used it!

My advice would be go and speak to James Hawkes-Reede at Aston Installations. He will be able to talk you through your options. Cheapest solution is to unplug the unit under the glove box and fit a TPMS defeat cable. Depending on the age of your car you may be able to just unplug it anyway and the warning light will disappear, but I think a 2008 car will need their solution. If you want to keep the system working properly AI can supply Autel TPMS sensors which can be programmed to work as OEM. That is a much cheaper option than going to your local AM MD and paying the ridiculous amount they will charge per corner. Or you can try to do it yourself, but it s a lot of faffing about and you will need the correct programming tool, plus the coding numbers on each of your original TPMS sensors. If you search on PH there are quite a few threads on this in the AM forum. HTH a bit. BRM.
