Long story short not enough power in my battery to start my 2019 DBSS . It’s being investigated by the dealer as it had been on a conditioner . I was advised not to use the under bonnet battery connect points to jump pack start it as it may damage electronic modules . I have a Noco GB70 jump pack I bought just for occasions like this but obviously don’t want to damage the electronics . It’s a pain trying to get a connection direct to the battery behind the drivers seat especially if you can’t get the seat to move ! Any thoughts on why Aston would put battery connections in the engine bay but then advised not to use them ? Would have thought modern battery packs would be clever enough not to spike the electronic modules .

The Owner's Guide says to use the designated points under the bonnet to jump start the car

Sounds like you were given poor advice. The Guide also says that you should not drive a car whose battery is incapable of holding sufficient charge to start it - which sounds sensible

Even if you keep the car on a conditioner the battery can still fail - I replaced mine at 6 years as a precaution, even though it still started the car

This.

By coincidence I am having my DB11 battery changed on Thursday because it is 6 years old and these cars do not like weak/failing batteries. I got a weird gearbox error message (that cleared itself and car drove perfectly) twice after leaving the car stood for a few days without a trickle charger. I think it's the car's way of gently nudging me to do the right thing and get the battery replaced.

Have just bought one for family car - as loading it up for trips causes problems as electric heavy tailgate and side lights stay on if a door is open.

No problems re my 8 or 9 year old Vantage.

Seem to remember two DBSS’s needing jumping at the AM event at the Shuttleworth collection 4 or more years ago. Surprising considering age of cars and parked about 30m apart!
