New battery - Now immobilizer will not recognise key.
Discussion
New battery - key error, traction control off , pats immobilizer red light going mad. I've tried everything disconnecting battery, unlocing doors with fob and emergency key, checked fuses in boot. All instruments light up, doors lock and unlock on glass key, but red immobilizer light flashes, saying key not communicating with immobilizer. All well before I changed battery - which is fully charcged.
Bought my 2009 Vantage 2 weeks ago. Pissed off.

I also have a 2009 Vantage.
As you have only recently purchased your car, you might not know the circumstances.
Immobiliser batteries of that period eventually fail and then electrical gremlins occur.
Best not to say too much on a public forum, but there is something for you to investigate.
Am sure that you will enjoy your car once it is working again.
That's nothing, the teething problems with my DB9 of the same age took a year to sort out and a few punch-ups along the way. I almost cashed it in and went back to an XK. But I stuck with it and we're OK now. In short, persevere
I don't know the answer in your case, maybe a trip to somewhere with AMDS? Or someone who knows which bit to bash.

Slightly worrying as I'm about to fit a new battery on Saturday after taking the old one off last weekend.....

I change the batteries in all of my cars myself, except the Vantage.
Reason - comments on PH about difficult to do without scraping hands and risk of subsequent electrical troubles.
A friend recently did this job himself and before removal, connected a slave battery to the under bonnet terminals.
That seems a good way to eliminate electrical problems.
i have 2009 V8V as well. changed battery without any issue, just normal windows, seats and missfire corrections.
never heard of your symptoms after a battery change on forums, but you should search
as another poster stated, search forums for immobilizer issues
it sounds like you are saying the door lock transmitter is working on your fob but the RFID for ignition inside the fob is not being recognized? the tag inside the key(s) would not change, they are passive and extremely robust.
if this is your symptom, you can pop out the ski slope (a 5 min job i've done it so many times now) and re-seat the 2 electrical connectors of the ignition switch. unlikely but worth a try.
if you have 2 fobs, same symptom?
AMDS may be needed if the RFID reader failed or lost the tag IDs
where are you located?
