V12s sportshift not engaging 1st gear without slipping
Discussion
I have a 28k mileage SS3 vantage v12s. I have an issue with the gearbox, well the clutch system to be precise.
When I pull away from standstill the revs rise and the car picks up extremely slowly, once it gets to 10mph I feel the clutch engage and we’re all good. The car then drives faultless, no slippage of the clutch, 50mph in 7th gear up a hill and no slippage. However when I stop I have the same issue, feather the accelerator and pull away very slowly till 10mph and we’re all good.
Any ideas? It’s going in for other things to get fixed next month so another things on the list to fix….
I’ve attached the fault code and data stream info.
The fault is intermittent but fairly regular now, started after the car was parked up for a month but I’ve noticed it a couple of times in the past.
Reset the adaption data for the clutch position etc to no joy
.
Does your car show that the clutch is "learning" when you first fire it up? You can tell because the little red LED in the 'N' button will flash for a few seconds. You have to start the engine but not engage a gear to tell.
Second question. If it does flash, have you been allowing it to go through the learning cycle every time you start it? Because, looking at your print-outs, it seems to say that the clutch is 'uncalibrated'.
Other than that then there could be a fault somewhere in the system (gearbox sensor or ECU) that's preventing the clutch from remembering where the 'bite' point is.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs here if my questions come over as a bit basic, but I don't like to assume that everyone knows.

Yes, I ve checked this, I ve done the self learn process using a laptop as well to make sure the kiss point data is within spec and not changing.
Sorry, I didn't quite understand your answer.- Does your car do clutch learning itself? Does the 'N' button LED flash for a few seconds when you start it but don't engage a gear?
- Do you let the clutch learn process complete every time you start the car and before you select a gear?
